Mathew4:19"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
Jesus found Simon peter and His brother Andrew fishing at the shores. He told them that he would make them fishers of men. becoming fishermen meant that they would have to go preach and convert men to believe in Jesus Christ and follow the path of Righteousness. In the same way, Jesus today calls us to fish men, and not only to "fish" them but also to preserve them.
when you catch fish, you have to preserve if you need to keep it any longer. in the same way if we need to keep the church believing and walking the way of God, we've Got to "preserve" them
we(Christians) are called to "preserve the fish". this means we are supposed to pray for the people we lead, love them, care for them, encourage them, so that the enemy doesn't snatch them away from the church. as Christians we are meant to set an example to others believers and even non-believers. the Bible says in 1st Timothy 4:12 that "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity".
if we set a wrong example for the people of God then they can easily be led astray and there we would have failed our role of "preserving the fish". let understand that we are called to preserve.
