Am part of the Jesus/Joshua Generation!!!

Joshua 1:7-10

Be strong and very courageous. Obey all the laws Moses gave you. Do not turn away from them, and you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of the Law continually. Meditate on it day and night so you may be sure to obey all that is written in it. Only then will you succeed. I command you -- be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

we are living in times where we need to stand for God like never before amidst the wickedness in our generation .it is a time when our love for God is like a fire God is calling us to a point of being able to stand and be a light to the perishing world amidst the darkness. We are Christians called to be like Christ with the courage of the Joshua character in the Bible. Allow me to introduce you to the traits of the people we are called to be in the Jesus/ Joshua generation;

  • they are courageous: Joshua says that be strong and take good courage this time Joshua and other Israelites were going to the promised land. The spies who had been sent had returned with a report that they had seen giants in the land.this report brought fear into the lives of the israelites. Amidst all this Joshua said , be strong and take good courage. There is one thing that made Joshua courageous, it was that he knew God was with him. So in all we go through in life the gear towards our courage should be the fact that God is with us. We are a bold and courageous generation. Dont be intimidated by giants and mountains, your faith can move them
    .
  • They are obedient to God: obedience is a central calling to every believer. God is our father and friend. He loves us , he wants us to obey what he says. The biggest form of obedience in every one's life is to accept Christ as their lord and savior. When we do this then He is able to change us as we become more like him. However for them that believed the Lord Jesus, we have a duty to live for Him. To allow him work in us. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:10 that we are Christ’s workmanship created for good works. We ought to read the word of God and obey it without compromise!
  • They read and study God's word: the bible is the only truth about you and me. The truth is what God says about what he has made. That truth is in God's word that set everything in motion. If we need to grow in wisdom and knowledge of God, then we ought to know God's word. This can be done by a discipline of reading God's word every day. Just like our bodies cant live without food, our spiritual bodies cant live without the word of God. Read your Bible and pray every day if you want to grow in Christ!
  • They meditate on the word of God:day in day out......they think, they ponder about this word of God and have a desire to do what it says. As a generation, lets not meditate on things that do not help us. Lets meditate on God's word Philippians 4: 8 says that whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. What do you meditate about?
  • They are destined to prosper: it is God's will that we prosper! Because God is rich and prosperous and we are his children! Jeremiah 29:11 says that God has good plans for us. We are blessed to prosper in life if we obey God. Deutronomy 28 says If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. God is willing to prosper us because its his will. Psalms 1:3 says that a man that obeys the word of God is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
    Do you want to prosper? Read and obey the word of God. The greatest prosperity that one can attain is to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Through Him we can Go and live with the father forever. Wooooo!!
  • they are visionary.
  • They are bold and have passion for the gospel
  • they shun evil.
  • they are quick to forgive.
  • they are humble and desire to be like Jesus.

  • they do not settle for less.
  • they do not focus on the past.
  • they do not believe in bad reports.
  • They are not content, they hunger for more.
  • They help others to succeed without caring about their own esteem.
  • They set an example.
  • They believe all things are possible.
