2ND CHRONICLES 7:14if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
Revival can be defined as a spiritual awakening caused by God that leads backsliden people to repent and return to true obedience to God. when Revival comes, the word of God is preached through evangelism and through this men's hearts keep in tune with the word and the ways of God. the people who are called by my name(God's name) are the Christians( church) which is the bride to Christ. the church is no longer the building but it is me and you. the bible says in (Matthew 18:20) that "where two or more people gather in my name i will be there". there fore when we Christians gather and call on Jesus.....Revival comes!!!. we are called by God's name because we are His children. the bible says in John 1:12 that " to them that Believed Him He gave them the Right to be children of God. when you are born Again you are not God's person but you are God's child! when they(we) humble themselves(ourselves)and pray. this means that prayer ought to be done out of humility, submission and reverence for God. humbleness causes us to recognize the sin in our lives and repent. the bible says that "blessed is the man whose sins are forgiven"( psalms 32).
it is so possible for us to always give excuses to God when we do wrong but the best way to reach God's heart is to humble ourselves. that is why we say Humble your selves and we pray!
for a revival to come, we need to turn away from our wicked ways. when we turn away from such ways, God is pleased with us. turning away from our wicked ways is a result of repentance because when we repent we turn away from the wrong we do. bear in mind that some times we(Christians) apologize to God instead of repenting.because repentance has an aspect of turning away from sin. God promises to open His eyes and His ears will be attentive to our prayer. (2nd chronicle 7:15) "Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place". and when God is attentive to us.....He responds!.
one of the benefits of Revival is answered prayer....do you need God to answer prayer?
seek for a revival
God bless you
