proverbs 22:1 A good name is more desirable than great riches;to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
there are so many characters in the bible that had good names for example Abraham, Isaac, Daniel, Joseph among others.they had good names because of what they were able to do. we are Abraham's descendants because of His name and the reputation behind His name(Galatians 3:29). the Bible says in Philippians 2:10 that "at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow down and every tongue shall confess that He is God.
the reason why every knee shall bow and every tongue confess is because of the power in the name. beloved,as you live on earth, you need to always try and see that wherever God has created for you opportunities of influence, always try to leave a good name. a good name is created when you have a good relationship with God. when you have a good relationship with God, you will be able to do what is right. the bible says in Ephesians 2:10...that "For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do". when we have good works in Christ, then people will love us and we will be able to have a good name. the bible says in proverbs 3:4 ...that Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
having a good relationship with God, seeking God diligently, depending on God will earn you a good name amongst men. lastly proverbs 18:16 "A man’s gift will make room for him and bring him before great men". when you have a gift or talent, it will create you a good name before great men and God.
